About Natalia
Natalia received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1979 at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, majoring in painting and drawing.
Since moving to Australia in the 1980s, Natalia has become one of Australia’s most influential art advocates.
Natalia has held a variety of key roles in the visual arts since arriving in Australia in the early 1980s; including working at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) , Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), Australia Council, the Historic Houses Trust of NSW, and helping to relaunch Art & Australia magazine.
She was on the committee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales Contemporary Collection Benefactors for more than 12 years, a member of the advisory committee to the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, a benefactor to various visual arts bodies, Director of GASP! (the Glenorchy Art & Sculpture Park in Hobart), immediate past Chair of Art Month, and is now on the UNSW Art & Design Advisory Council, and a Trustee at the Australian Museum Foundation.
Natalia was Managing Curator of Australia’s first participation in the Bienal de Cuenca (Ecuador) with a feature exhibition, Frágil, including four of Australia’s leading contemporary artists. Frágil turned out to be Australia's first ever group show in Latin America.
